Two months ago, Canadians elected the Prime Minister of Canada with a strengthened mandate to address the global economic crisis. Today, concerned constituents of Elgin-Middlesex-London are questioning democracy in Canada after electing a Conservative Government just 6 weeks ago.
Calls and emails have been flooding both the constituency office and hill office of Member of Parliament Joe Preston.
“Canadians are faced with a situation here in Ottawa that most do not understand,” stated Preston.
Hundreds of constituents started calling the MP’s office following the signing of the coalition between the NDP and Liberal parties with the support from the Bloc Quebecois.
“Electors spoke on election night and we can not have the separatists dictate the terms of the next government,” said Preston. “Right now we have to improve the economy and continue to work to help the manufacturing sector in Elgin-Middlesex-London. Under the Conservative Government, Canada’s business taxes will become among the lowest in major industrialized economies- helping stimulate economic growth and jobs when we need it the most.”
Joe is requesting that constituents continue to call and email is office to voice their opinions on this current situation.
